My Favourite Beauty Buys

Hey dolls! Today I thought I'd share with you some of my top beauty buys that I cannot live without. These are my holy grail and items I restock time and time again and are a mix between high-end and drugstore products.

1. Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation (£29.50)

Now I've been a loyal advocate for Smashbox's Studio Skin since the beginning but since my last bottle ran out (it took nearly 2 years!) I was in search for a new foundation to play around with. I've heard so many raving reviews about Estée Lauders' Double Wear and couldn't resist giving it a go and now has become one of my beauty staples. If you have scarring on your skin like mine, this is a Godsend. It perfectly covers all pigmentation in one light layer and builds a flawless base without looking cakey. The ladies at Estée Lauder are always super friendly and if your colour doesn't match after you've tried it out for a couple of days, you are always welcome to bring it back for an exchange. I would advise taking home samples to test out before committing to the full size. My colour is 'Cashew'.

2. Mac Pro Long Wear Concealer (£17)

High coverage and doesn't crease, all I ask from a good concealer. The only aspect I dislike is the pump which dispenses far too much product. My colour is NC42 for those who are wondering.

3. La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo (£15.50)

They say the French have the best luxury skin care products and luckily for us Brits, La Roche have made their products available at Boots, without the hefty price tag. For all those with acne prone skin like myself, this product is a lifesaver. I swear by this as since I purchased my first tube 4 months ago, it has not only helped reduce my inflamed skin from my previous bout of cystic acne but made my skin noticeably softer and smoother. Perfect for those with oily or sensitive skin, apply last thing before bed and first thing in the morning as a moisturiser which also doubles up as a primer. I'm yet to try the rest of the products from the range but if they are anything like the Duo, I'm sure will be fabulous.

4. EOS Balm in Sweet Mint (£6.50)

This lip balm certainly lives up to it's hype! 100% natural and organic, it has made its way into my everyday essentials and is so good my boyfriend even pinched mine! I picked mine up from Selfridges but you can also order them from Amazon.

5. MAC Lipstick in Velvet Teddy (£15.50) and MAC Lip Pencil in Whirl (£12.50)

Word on the street is that these two colours combined are the secret behind Kylie Jenner's famous pout. I'm obsessed with mauve nudes at the moment as it's such an easy colour to wear, day or night. To achieve the Kylie Jenner look, overdraw your lips a tad with a slightly darker lipliner then blend the inside edges to create a more natural shape. Top up with a coat of Velvet Teddy and voila.

6. L'Oreal Miss Manga Eyes Mascara (£8.99)

A classic staple that is always in my make up bag. I've tried hundreds of mascaras in my day but none have really given me the voluminous effect Miss Manga eyes achieves.

7. Naked Basics Palette by Urban Decay (£23.00)

Subtle, natural colours for everyday wear. I love adding a touch of eyeshadow, as it gives my eyes the extra bit of depth. I'm never adventurous with my eyeshadow as I'm always drawn to matt browns, but this palette gives me a range within my comfort zone.

8. Wide Eyeshadow Blending Brush - Superdrug Pro (£6.99)

I happened to pick this brush up on a whim as I recently lost my blending brush from Real Techniques and needed a quick cheap replacement but it has secured it's place in my permanent brush collection. A good blending brush is so important and you don't have to spend a fortune to achieve a professional finish. If you're like me who's hopeless at applying eyeshadow,  the secret is in the blending. You can easily cheat a smoky eye if you blend blend blend so grab this while its currently on sale for £2.99
